At first glance, the Sharp Pantone SoftBank 107SH is nothing else than a regular Android smartphone, available in a whole bunch of colors (eight of them, to be accurate – which would explain the Pantone in the name). The features are, basically, what you would expect from a good Android phone. A single core 1.4 GHz processor, 4 megapixel camera and a 3.7 inch touchscreen with 854 x 480 pixels. It also runs the latest Android version, 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. To make things even more attractive, it’s dust and water resistant. The 107SH has a feature no other phone has — a front button that, when pushed, will get the phone to measure the radiation level around you. Very useful if you have the habit of taking long strolls through Prypiat. Jokes aside, I can totally understand why a Japanese phone would have this, considering the Fukushima disaster last year. I mean, if you can use your smartphones to know which areas you should avoid, why wouldn’t you, just to stay on the safe side?
